“There have been a number of inaccurate stories in the Texas political press about Citizen Leader PAC, its leadership and its goals. Not a single reporter contacted us in advance of their stories to verify any of the facts or to ask us directly about our goals or motivations. Instead, they chose to speculate and manufacture this information. To correct the record:

Citizen Leader PAC’s core principles are limited government, free enterprise and individual liberty. We decide whom to support in political campaigns by evaluating which candidate is most faithful to those principles. We plan to get involved in many races, and our criteria will remain the same. We are not an anti-RINO group. We are not interested in Speaker politics. We have never taken a positions on individual bills. We do like elected officials who remember that they work for the voters, and not vice-versa.

Furthermore, we are proud to have Leo Linbeck III as the leader of CLAPAC. His father, Leo Linbeck, Jr., is a different person, and in no way affiliated with the organization.”

Meredith Simonton
Executive Director, Citizen Leader Alliance

The Citizen Leader PAC is a non-partisan political action committee that allows individual leaders to engage in the political process by pooling personal, voluntary financial contributions to support election campaigns at the local and state government levels in Texas.

The Citizen Leader PAC supports state and local political candidates based on the principles that reflect the priorities of its members. The Citizen Leader PAC Board of Directors determines whether or not to support candidates based on the following pro-liberty commitments:

Limited Government

Government is a monopoly, and like all monopolies tends toward corruption and exploitative behavior. By necessity, therefore, the scope and scale of government must be limited. Limited government requires eternal vigilance through active participation in the political process by private sector leaders.

Individual Liberty

The United States was founded on the idea that the citizen is sovereign. Governments must be committed to the cultivation and protection of individual liberty, and its matched pair, individual responsibility. Our political system must serve the people, not rule them.

Free Enterprise & Free Trade

The most powerful, proven instrument of material and social progress is the free market. Entrepreneurs, who use markets to create and capture value, are a critical driver of this progress. To improve the condition of its citizens, a nation needs a legal and social framework that encourages and rewards risk-taking and entrepreneurship, and harnesses comparative advantage.

Economic Growth

Economic growth is essential to the flourishing of a nation. Efficient tax policy, stable and well-defined property rights, rational and restrained regulation, and freedom from the distortions of government encroachment on the private sector are prerequisites for the expansion of the economy and the national wealth.
